Keeping my New Years Resolution for REAL

So many of you have been there, many of you are going through it, or will soon enter into the craziness called a relationship. It seems like us women live for finding that special "someone", our Prince charming, to sweep us off our feet and ask for our hand in marriage. . . Well I'm at that point. . . or almost :)

My boyfriend and I have talked about marriage (after dating for 3.5 years) even set a wedding month and tentative date for June 2008. He's saving up for a ring, we've been ring browsing. . .so when the "official" proposal comes I'll be doing "official" back flips. However, I'm not really waiting for the ring to get myself and life in order. . . mainly my health! I am currently b/t a size 16-18 and this is probably the largest I've been. . . ever. . . . On Dec. 31st, 2006 I stepped on the scale and I was. . . 228lbs :( My heart hit the floor. I can't believe I gained that much during school. . .

So as you can all see. . . I have some WORK to do. That's why I'm not waiting for the proposal to lose the weight. I have 1.5 years til the supposedly big day. I think the most important thing is that whether we end up getting married or not (a lot can change in a year), I am doing this for ME. There are so many health benefits that go along with weight reduction that even though cosmetically, I'd look better in my wedding dress if i could drop a few sizes, my HEALTH is way more important than my looks.

At times we are all in need of motivation to have the courage to make major changes in our lives. . . this is mine, I hope that you all can find your strength within the everyday ins and outs of your life. . . :) or through me and my journey!

www.calorieking.com

I'm not a member of the online diet program, but I use the website to get an idea of how many calories I'm eating. I am attempting to stick to 1000-1200 calories a day, with a cardio workout of 1 hour/day.
